SNN has great news about lawyers!
Idealistic Attorney Jailed
by
Lenore Surdez
Anytown, USA [SNN] An attorney facing contempt of court charges undauntedly faced a judge despite that the judge's private side bar admonitions to try the case or be held in jail.
Once back on the record this attorney again refused to move the case forward despite the judge's private warning without a stay that would allow him to file an appeal on a matrimonial case before the court. The judge repeatedly urged the lawyer to continue or be held on contempt charges yet our hero was relentless in his pursuit of what was "fair." This attorney was then jailed on behalf of his client's right to attain justice.
He was held for 90 minutes minus his belt, tie, shoelaces, etc. in what was an amazing demonstration of guts, glory and SPIRIT. Upon returning to his law office a partner uttered: "aren't you getting too old to be doing this crusade stuff?" Not surprisingly, our hero replied: "no."
Could this be a lawyer in your town?

Low Cost Lawyer Doing High Quality Work
For $79 Per Hour!
By
Lenore Surdez
[SNN-New York City, NY] Often legal fees are beyond the reach of most Americans. When poor people need legal help they are limited in attaining adequate representation. Usually, they find themselves turning to the Legal Aid Society for free or reduced-rate assistance. The wealthy simply call their high-priced golf buddy lawyer. Where does that leave the rest of us? With GREAT NEWS, of course!
In NYC, Steve Brodsky, a long-time entrepreneur-turned-business attorney, is providing a solution for his clients. Brodsky, a lawyer with a conscience and a mission is providing business startup and general business counseling at a rate about 70 percent lower than the average attorney. His fees? A very affordable $79 per hour; that’s no typo.
"For some reason, lawyers think they are entitled to hourly rates that are 10-20 times higher than the average working person," explained Brodsky. "I
think that's excessive and unfair," he stated.
By keeping his overhead low, explains Brodsky, he passes on the savings to his clients. According to Brodsky, many of his services, such as drafting LLC Operating Agreements and filing trademark applications, cost only a few hundred dollars.
"Most lawyers can't stand it because they are getting away with charging a few
thousand dollars for the exact same services," remarked Brodsky. "In fact,” he continued, “I charge just one $79 flat fee for forming a corporation or LLC in
any state. I've seen this service advertised for as much as $1,500. That's
just insane!"
Brodsky's “lean operation” translates into big savings for his clients and allows the little guy to have some equality in accessing legal services, forming corporations and availing themselves of their tax benefits and write offs.
"Most attorneys have to pay for their plush offices, fancy suits, and armies
of secretaries, receptionists and paralegals," explained Brodsky.
He continued, "instead, I do all the work myself, I don't wear suits, and my midtown office is small and windowless. My clients seem to appreciate my approach, especially since it saves them so much money."
Brodsky explained how he learned how it feels to be on the client’s side of legalities in his earlier days as an entrepreneur and business owner. He related that he once retained a law firm for $300 per hour thinking that the firm's prestigious name would gain some credibility for his fledgling Internet business. "All I got for my money was lousy service and a huge bill to pay," he recalled.
According to Brodsky, he provides better, more personal, and more responsive
service than the larger firms, and does it for about 70 percent less.
"My clients pay only for quality legal work, not the fancy trappings of a typical law
office," said Brodsky. He stated that he also provides services that also include business purchases and sales, franchise purchases and sales, shareholder agreements, Internet law, and private placements to raise capital.
Brodsky also handles immigration matters at prices that he claims are the
lowest in the country.
What great news! Lawyers who really care about justice and their clients first and foremost!
