All of us have, at one time or another, undergone dark, powerful and painful periods of transformation. People we love die, our relationships break up, our world crumples; it seems like nothing goes right.

This process called LIFE fills our world with many contradictory forces. We experience highs and lows, darkness and light, joy and sorrow. The inSPIRITional news? Inevitably, the attempt at balancing all of the above will leave their mark in our soul’s evolution and we will grow. We can decide how we want to grow and evolve.

Many of us aspire to be what Gary Zukav, author of The Seat of the Soul called “authentically empowered multi-sensory human beings.” Being empowered means many things to many people. However, empowered people usually seek information, own their issues, embrace change and challenge themselves by reaching beyond their comfort zone.

Some of us close our eyes, refuse to change and have to be dragged, kicking and screaming by happenstance or destiny all the while repeating ancient patterns. Striving to grow in a metamorphic process of evolving consciousness is preferable and it’s a choice, believe it or not.

Transformation often “kills” something whether it is a person, an attitude, a relationship, whatever. Many of us are familiar with the Biblical reference: “for everything there is a season.”

We humans are challenged to accept that most things happen in their own time and not ours. Many times, for reasons we may not understand for years and years, if ever, the ensuing chaos leaves us reeling with different kinds of painful losses. Often, we have to look back to see the whys. “ Life can only be understood backwards, but must be lived forwards.”

Recently in Asia, a transformation in the ocean floor created the tsunami that killed hundreds of thousands. Because SNN reports inSPIRITional news we have to look very deep into the unfathomable to find that kind of news in a monumental and horrendous human tragedy. The SNN perspective inverts the glass and sees it half full. This is certainly no easy feat in such a massive tragedy.

We’d like to share something the Associated Press reported that may potentially offer us just a fraction of light in lieu of this dark abyss of grief and, perhaps, some infinitesimal consolation from this grief and pain.

On the beach where the tsunami snuffed out the lives of so many human souls the Earth has given birth to a sea turtle breeding ground. A “new” life form now occupies that land.

No one can suggest that sea turtles equate in importance with human life, however, perhaps, a natural evolution is underway? Is this earth cycle part of our planet’s own “life?” There aren’t comforting answers only more questions.

The Earth like any living being goes through transformation, too. Only weeks after a forest fire destroys mountains of beautiful trees rebirth is seen as fresh, tender pine needles break through blackened and burned branches. Currently, we are seeing many “natural disasters” that may well represent a metamorphosis on our planet.

Please pray for Earth during these changes. It, too, is fragile in its existence just as we humans are.

For the most part, the process of transformation is usually not pleasant. However, very often the result is beautifully ineffable for those who have the faith, trust, inSPIRITion and the magnitude to grasp even the smallest fragment of hope it may offer.

We have all, at one time of another, felt the painful changes and challenges transformation can bring our way. A spiritual dimension can be embraced when we place such matters in the hands of our Higher Power.

As the poem Desiderata profoundly reminds us: “whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding just as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.”

Please do your spiritual and emotional homework, maintain faith and hope and go through the transformative process as consciously as possible; seek professional help if your need it.
